Local artist and tutor Liz Monahan has donated £500 to Norwich Foodbank following a successful week-long exhibition at Art Depot NR3 on Magdalen Street.
The exhibition, Face Time, ran from 24–30 May and showcased a collection of timed portraits created over the past three years as part of Liz’s participation in the online Drawing Is Free project. The exhibition celebrated the spontaneity and accessibility of portrait drawing, inviting visitors to engage directly with the artistic process.
As part of the exhibition, visitors were offered the opportunity to sit for a portrait in exchange for a £10 donation. Each portrait was completed within the length of a single song, creating a unique and memorable experience for participants while highlighting Liz’s skill in capturing a likeness within a limited timeframe.
Over the course of the week, more than 50 portraits were produced, raising a total of £500 for Norwich Foodbank. The donation will help support local people facing hardship and food insecurity across the community.
