The Salvation Army – The Victory Project

26 February 2026

The Victory Programme

The Victory Programme seeks over 6 weeks (one session a week) to help people learn to cook good, nutritious, budget friendly meals from scratch.  The food is provided by The Salvation Army and they cook along with the chef who is giving direction.  They will be supported by a volunteer.  The food is then taken home for them either to enjoy with their family, or to be frozen for future use.  At the completion of the six weeks, they have a graduation ceremony and will receive a small gift.

However, the programme is much more than teaching people to cook.  It is about working together to value, encourage, support and celebrate each other.  It helps people to;

  • Budget for their food better
  • Learn about food hygiene
  • Find out about online training courses
  • Builds self-confidence,
  • Advice about how to budget better with bills or receive debt advice.
  • We can also provide introductions to The Salvation Army’s Employment Plus Service, which helps people back into the workplace.

The programme is able to take six people at a time.  Please complete the attached application form. Participant Membership Form and send it to [email protected]

The dates for the next course are 16th, 23rd and 30th March (no session on Easter bank holiday Monday) then 13th, 20th and 27th April.
