New Day Donation

We were pleased to receive contact from the organisers of New Day, a large Christian festival held at the Norfolk Showground, offering us leftovers from their week long camp.

A volunteer dropped off 60 empty crates on Friday 1st August and then a driver went along in the evening to do the first collection (19 crates). Two more drivers went on Saturday 2nd August to take whatever we could fit in a van and two more cars!

New Day is organised into 6 zones, each with their own catering areas so we collected from each area – in the middle of 10,000 people packing up and leaving so it was a very busy day!

We were delighted to receive cereal, crisps, jam and spreads, biscuits, pasta sauce, coffee, UHT milk and sweets and we also took a crate each of oranges and apples. The ambient items were all unopened and in date, and other charities had come before (and were arriving after) to take fruit and vegetables, bread and refrigerated items.
