Unauthorised Collections taking place. Please be aware.

An article has been published today in the Evening News and we would also like to release the following statement:

Norwich Foodbank statement regarding fraudulent door-to-door collections

“It has come to our attention that a woman claiming to be collecting on behalf of Norwich Foodbank has been going door-to-door in communities in the NR3 area encouraging people to make a financial donation to support the food bank’s work.

This woman has no connection to the food bank, or the Trussell Trust, and we do not condone door-to-door fundraising on our behalf. We urge anyone who is approached by someone who is collecting door-to-door on behalf of the food bank to decline to make a donation and report it to the police for investigation.

We are incredibly grateful to our community who volunteer with us, donate food and money, and enable us to support people experiencing hardship in the Greater Norwich area. In June alone we were able to provide emergency food parcels to 935 people and this would not be possible without the generosity of our donors.

Anyone wishing to support Norwich Foodbank’s work to provide emergency food, and compassionate advice and guidance to people struggling to get by, can do so in several different ways.

We have permanent collection points in many supermarkets, businesses and shops around the area where people can donate food items or you can purchase items from our Amazon wishlist. You can find the locations of our collection points or make a financial donation via our website norwich.foodbank.org.uk
